Ms. Christy’s Science Class

Monday : The students will begin to discuss the importance of investigation and observation in science through two activities: apple observation and Are You FBI material. 

 Tuesday: The students will participate in the Air Ball lab and discuss the steps of the scientific method through a power point presentation. (spi. 6.2.3)

Wednesday: The students will go to the science lab and create a blueprint of the lab.  They will follow a rubric for grading.

Thursday: The students will discuss the three types of models (physical, conceptual and mathematical) and review different types fo charts and graphs. (spi. 6.2.3)

Friday: The students will take the first Think Link test.

Aug 20-24

Monday: The students will review the lab safety information in their textbook as well as the safety information that will be handed out in a packet.

Tuesday: The students will create a 4 tab book on the safety symbols. Please bring art supplies to class.
Wednesday: The students view a power point presentation over lab safety procedures and complete a review cross word puzzle over lab safety in preparation for the test Thursday.

HW: Study for the lab safety test on Thursday.
Thursday: The students will complete the Lab Safety Procedure test. This test will remain in my files throughout the school year.

Friday: The students will begin to discuss the importance of investigation and observation in science through two activities: apple observation and Are You FBI material.

Monday: The students will spend the first half of the day in homeroom taking care of books, lockers, schedules etc. Students will then go to first and second periods to meet their teachers and cover procedures for that class.

Tuesday: Students will go to homeroom to complete items from Monday and turn in folders. They will also go to third and fourth periods to meet their teacher and discuss procedures for that class.

Wednesday: We will finish discussing class room procedures and examine some different careers in science.

Thursday: Students will take a quiz over class procedures for science, complete a science word activity and a getting to know you activity.

Friday: Students will complete a scavenger hunt for the science textbook to become familar with its different parts.  Remember composition books are due in class on Monday.
